About Us

We are social work graduate students who have over 50 years of combined experience in child welfare settings. While we both began our careers in frontline child protection, we both worked most of our careers in different program areas. Six years ago, we began working together and bonded over the needs of children in care and the challenges of supporting them.

We completed our graduate research in tandem, which has focused on developing this practical guide for social workers in preparing for and carrying out critically important duties in the process of removal and placement of children.
